Director Anurag Kashyap's That Girl in Yellow Boots is a thriller movie. It shows adventure of a white girl desperate to find her father in India. As said by Anurag, this movie is loosely based on real events witnessed by movie's lead actress and co-writer Kalki Koechlin.

She finds much different kind of people in city. Like, she is dating a drug addicted boyfriend Prashant, an auto riksha-wallah wanted to take advantage on her, a generous customer of beuty parlour Diwakar, an un-helpful but yet humbled officer, gang-man Chittiappa.
Then what happens tells the movie...
Will she find her father...? Is her father an ideal man...?
Film is for serious film goers. Entertainment quotient is less. It is for feel the characters rather enjoying them. Film though has touch of reality, but such reality is very rare. So, it is very rare chance that people could connect with film.
Film goes through issues of adultery, child abuse, incestuous, drug-addiction. Lead character of the movie Ruth is also engage in adultery for the desperation of finding her father.
Film is more like a documentary, it is less entertaining, and Ruth's character is rare in society.
Good point in movie is that it is a serious attempt to show life and problem of some people. But majority of viewers will find difficulty to connect with movie.
Film will be liked by fan of serious movies and Anurag Kashyap's movies.
Reviewer Verdict: Film can be avoided if you are not a very serious movie lover, and are not willing to witness life and problems of a random rare person.
