Movie Tagline: “Pension ki Tension”

Director Rajiv Mehra's Chala Mussaddi Office Office is the movie adaptation of award winning and popular comedy TV serial Office Office. In TV serial Pankaj Kapoor represents common man and several characters represent different bureaucracy or administration staff of various offices. This film also follow same pattern where Pankaj Kapoor as common man have to face corruption in various offices where staff is represented by same characters. Whit the fame of Office Office serial and since corruption is already a big issue this movie is already has its viewers. Let we discuss do this movie live up with its fame
Mussaddi Lal Tripathi is retired school master. His wife after a longtime illness died in hospital because of corrupt staff. Mussaddi with his young unemployed son Bunty goes to Haridwar thereafter Bunty goes somewhere else and Mussaddi went to "chaar dhaam yaatra" (a Hindu religious travel to certain places).
During this time, Pension officers interpret him as expired and declared him dead, and stops his pension.
Then film tells how Mussaddi try to declare him alive and start his pension again...
Story of Mussaddi dealing with government bureaucracy is in well placed. However, particular story is not fresh and repeated many times in many places and in Office Office serial itself and in many other fictions. Repeated dialogue of some repeated characters are little irritating. Like patel's "do baat ki ek baat" feel irritating many times. Office Office itself was a very good serial and this movie is not ahead of serial. Though, performances, direction are good. Mussaddi and his relation with his son are interesting.
Good performances by most of its actors and well directed movie are some of its positive points. Though, particular story is old.
It will be liked by those people who are fan of Office Office serial, and like to satire of common man in corrupt system.
Do not compare this film with original Office Office serial otherwise you may be little disappointed.
Reviewer Verdict: It is a one time watch movie.
