Director Vineet Khetrepal's Satrangee Parachute is children comedy drama and adventure movie. Five small town children go to big Mumbai city to buy a parachute.
Pappu is son of poor Chhotulal who sells ice-golla in Nainital. Pappu have runaway from his home many times to Mumbai city partly because of his abusive father and partly because of his adventurous nature.
Pappu used to help his neighboring children and tells the story of Mumbai. Chhotulal's neighbors worried that their children will also become un-obedient in the company of Pappu.
One day when Pappu come to know that one of his neighboring blind girl want to fly with Parachute, he and 4 other neighboring children runaway together from home to Mumbai for to buy parachute for her. Mumbai city is on high alert because of terrorist activities, where children are mistaken as associates of terrorists.
Then what is happen tells the movie...
Will children buy the parachute... Will they tag as terrorists... will they return to home...
It is a simple film try to focus on adventurous nature of small children.
Performances of all actors are good. While direction and screenplay is dull but story is good. It would have been better if movie has shown more focus on life of children, rather than their abusive parents. And adventure of Pappu and gang in Mumbai could have been more elaborate and thrilling.
Though, Direction and screenplay is dull, but good thing about film is its story, and adventurous life of Pappu will be liked.
It will be liked by those who love to see adventurous nature of small town children.
