Director Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz is comedy and drama movie. This is directorial debut of Rohit Dhawan son of popular director David Dhawan who is popular for directing many good films in comedy genre. Film is praised by most reviewers.
Jignesh Patel aka Jerry aka Rocco and Nick Mathur aka Hunter are two friends living in same apartment in London UK. As economical recession come in the UK, both of them loose their respective jobs. Jerry has to fulfill the basic needs of his sister's orphan son to protect him from adoption according to legal procedure. While Nick fears of break-up with his girl friend Radhika Awasthi, due to her high living standard. Due to responsibilities and needs, Jerry and Nick decide to become male escorts for some time.
Then what happens tell the movie...
Do Jerry and Nick's decision really help them to fulfill their responsibilities and needs or not... Will they loose or ever get back the things for which they took this decision...
Rohit Dhawan has shown his talent from his very first movie. Everyone in star cast have given very good performances. First thing do not think this film is based on male escort as one might think from the trailers of film. This film is good sarcasm on recession. Film shows good humors, emotional sentiments at same time effectively. Film does not depend on slapstick or forced jokes for humor, humor is good. Film's direction, screenplay is good. Though film climax lack any turn in movie and become quite predictable. But this lack of big turn towards climax, is actually make film more watchable because characters handle their problems with quite natural way without being too filmy and unnatural. And film is still good watchable movie with light, humorous, and sentimental moments at proper places at good way. Film also give message that short cut is not always good with balanced humor and emotions.
Good points of movie are its good performances, direction, story, screenplay, while bad points of movie is its lack of any big turn in climax of movie.
Film will be liked by fan of good humorous and sentimental movie.
Do not expect any big turn towards the end of movie otherwise you will be disappointed.
Reviewer Verdict: Film is a must watch film if you don’t hate light entertaining movie.
