Soundtrack (movie review)

Review Writer: Ajay Bharat
Rating: ***

Director Neerav Ghosh's Soundtrack is a musical drama movie. It is official remake of movie "It's All Gone Pete Tong". It is claimed to be based on true events.

Ronak Kaul is an aspirant musician comes to Mumbai. Start working in his uncle club as a happening DJ of city. He also composes some songs, and wanted to open his own studio. He soon became addicted to glam life with alcohol, smoking, drugs, and continuous exposure to loud music. He starts to loose his hearing capability, which he initially ignored. One accident finally makes him complete deaf. He became depressed and cut off from the rest of world. Then he met a born deaf girl Gauri, she tries to take him out from depression.
Then, what happens tell the movie... Will once very happening and music lover guy come out of depression from deafness... what he will do with his music...

It is an inspiring story, that how deaf people can also live life normally. It gives hope and feels you good. But problem is though claimed to be based on true events but through1 the best knowledge Frankie Wilde of original film, which is represented by Ronak in remake is fictitious character. Though story may be based on some small different events, but with the acknowledgement of character is fictitious and even though it, film is presented as documentary form make u irritate sometimes. I have come across many of real inspiring stories of deaf, mute etc, on that account also, it fails to impress.
Ronak’s hallucination of his inner self, sometimes look good, it can be better if he were funnier. Camera work is not directed well, because too many close up of drug abusing scenes are shown by close-up, which after sometimes become very repetitive. Performances are good, direction is Ok, and Screenplay is not very good.

Good points of movie is its inspiring story, good performances, while bad points of movie is its documentary treatment of story, not so good screenplay and camera work, and average direction.
It is likeable by fan of serious stories, and people who want to see life of DJ and musician, and deaf mute inspiring story.
Reviewer Verdict: It can be seen once.
