Director Raghav Dar's My Friend Pinto is comedy and drama movie.
Michael Pinto lives in small village of Goa; his life goes around with his mother, his passion for music, and memory of his childhood friend Sameer. Sameer had moved to Mumbai long time ago and Pinto frequently send letters to Sameer, to which Sameer sent no reply. After the death of Pinto's mother, Pinto visits Mumbai to meet his childhood friend Sameer. Sameer now have changed into Sam and living modern life with his wife. One night Sameer left Pinto alone at home to go in a party, and Pinto come out from home into the Mumbai alone, and then he travel Mumbai and have his adventure with city.
Then what happens tell the movie...
What adventures Pinto evident in the city...? Does it change Pinto or Pinto change to city...?
Story though do not serve anything new in film, it is same old story of adventure of young villagers in big city. Script is though good, but fall flat at the level of played screenplay on screen. Performances from lead actor is average and do not impress. Direction is also not very good. Film sometimes, because of weak lead performances look like slapstick comedy.
Good points of movie are its nice script, while bad point of movie are its weak performances, story and screenplay, and direction.
Film may be liked by the fans of adventures of innocent villagers in city linkers.
Film’s theme is though similar to old hit Bollywood movie 'Yarana', but do not compare this movie with that, otherwise you will be big disappointed.
Reviewer Verdict: Film is avoidable movie.
