Director Anubhav Sinha's Ra. One is Science Fiction movie. Famous Bollywood Super star Shahrukh Khan is working in this movie and because of this and marketing, movie is already declared financially super hit before its actual release. Film is said to inspire from Hollywood movies Terminator 2 and Tron. Let’s see how Anubhav Sinha performs in this already super hit film.
Shekhar Subramanium is declared leader of the team which are developing new Game in Barron Industries. Shekhar lives with his wife Sonia Subramanium and Son Prateek Subramaniam. On suggestion of Prateek, Shekhar gives the idea of stronger villain than the Hero in front of his team, and start the development of game. Villain of game is named as 'Ra. One' and Hero is named as 'G. One'. G.One has face similar to Shekhar.
On the game launching day, Prateek start to play game as the character Lucifer in game, but interrupted in-between the playing. That night, Ra. One come out from the game, and wants to kill Lucifer to complete the game. Ra. One killed the Sekhar, when he came in his way. He finally found that Prateek is Lucifer, and start searching for him.
Sonia and Prateek after the death of Sekhar decide to leave for India, where in between G. One come out from the game, and saved them from Ra. One. Ra. One can change himselves into anyone.
What happens then tells the movie...
Will Ra. One get succeed to find Prateek... Will G.One able to defeat Ra. One even though his power is less...
Story serves nothing new for those who have seen Hollywood movies Terminator and Tron. Screenplay is weak, direction is not very good. Film only serves as apparently new in Super Hero and Science Fiction movies and comparatively big budget in compare to other Bollywood movie. Though, without any doubt, it is far behind the other Super Hero movies of Bollywood like 'Krissh', 'Zokkomon' and Science fiction movie 'Robot', 'Koi Mil gya'.
Performance of Shahrukh is not good, rest of actors have done good performances. Initial part of the movie is good, but middle and last part of the movie is not very good.
Good points of movie is its apparently new in Super Hero and Science Fictions movies in Bollywood, while bad points of movie is story, screenplay, performance of lead character, direction.
It will be liked by fan of Shahrukh Khan, and those who want to see Super Hero and Science Fiction movie from Bollywood.
Do not compare this movie with other good Super Hero movie Krissh and Science Fiction movie Robot, otherwise you will be disappointed.
Reviewer Verdict: If you are not very big fan of Shahrukh khan, Super Hero movies, and Science Fiction movies, than it is better to avoid this movie.
