Director Y.P. Singh aka Yogesh Pratap Singh's 'Kya Yahi Sach Hai' is a social and crime drama movie. Director Y.P. Singh is an IPS officer of the 1985 batch, Maharashtra Cadre. This film is based on Mr. Y.P. Singh's novel 'Carnage by Angels' which was published in 2003. Y.P. Singh as IPS officer has served into district police, CBI, and reserve police. He had a reputation of tough policing, conducts raids on daily basis. He also dealt with some high profile cases during the posting of CBI. His attempts of uncovering corruptions led him into troubles; he has been posted at several insignificant places while his contemporaries received accolades, promotions, and medals. He challenged these Government actions in court which he lost initially in lower courts, but finally won in Supreme Court. He then posted as Commandant of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Group 8. SRPF was lacked from modern facilities, he then worked like a business executives there and developed it tremendously and also for the benefits of constables and their children he generate funds from his activities. This film had won Silver Award in the Narrative Film Category of the California Film Awards in 2010.

Raghu Kumar during the training for IPS service, being taught cycle patrolling in the streets. During the demonstration, head constable tells him about the corruption in departments, and he also tells an incident which changed him into an honest person. Raghu and his wife take resolve in front of him, for not to take bribes during his service. On the service as an IPS officer, raghu evident the real face of corruption in his department. With the commitment of not to be part of corruption, Raghu perform tough policing and works against corruption also. This led him into troubles.
Then what happens tell the movie...
Will he continue to be an honest officer working against corruption...? Will corrupt officers become against him and get succeed to stop him...

This film shows the reality of corruption, its deep routes and methods presents in society. Strength of this film is its honesty and simplicity to reality. It is not a usual Bollywood masala film. Performances of actors are good, direction is also good.

Good things of film are its reality and social issued based story, and good direction. While bad points of film are it do not have usual Bollywood masala in film.
It will be liked by fan of reality and social issue based films.
Do not expect twists and turns like in a Bollywood masala movie.
Reviewer Verdict: If you like reality and social issues based movies, then it is a must watch movie.
