Director Gautham Menon's 'Ekk Deewana Tha' is romantic drama movie. Gautham Menon had also directed 2001 hit bollywood film 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein'. This film is remake of 2010 Tamil film 'Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa' and 2010 Telugu film 'Ye Maaya Chesave', both films were blockbuster and directed by same director.
Sachin is Hindu mechanical engineering student who aspirant to become a filmmaker living in Mumbai. Jessie belongs to a conservative Christian family. Sachin met with Jassie and instantly fall in love with her, but their different religion does not allow Jassie to think about him. On the discovery of Sachin's follow up and stalking to Jessie by Jessie's father, they moved to their native village in Kerala. This does not discourage the Sachin, he follows her to the Kerala where they meet again. Jessie has developed some feeling for Sachin but she is not sure.
Then what happen tells the movie...
Will Jessie falls in love with Sachin... Will they face any major objection...? Will they meet and marry...
Films shows a simple and good romantic story, where a nice man fall in love by love at first sight and obsessed about a girl, and follows her for his genuine love. It gives the feel of old deep romantic films.
Good points of movie is its simple romantic story, good direction, cinematography, screenplay, while bad points of film may be performances are average or may be roles are not very well suited to lead actors.
It will be liked by fan of romantic and passionate love story.
